About Jesus Death Shown in Quran compared to the Bible

Surah 4.156 And (The Lord has done this) because of their denying (Jesus) and because of their uttering a great calumny against Mary,157 And because of their (falsely) claiming, `We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the (false) Messenger of Allâh,' whereas they killed him not, nor did they cause his death by crucifixion, but he was made to them to resemble (one crucified to death). Verily, those who differ therein are certainly in (a state of) confusion about it. They have no definite knowledge of the matter but are only following a conjecture. They did not kill him, this much is certain (and thus could not prove the Christ as accursed).158 Rather Allâh exalted him with all honour to His presence. And Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.159 And there is none of the people of the Scripture (- the Jews and the Christians) but most certainly will believe in this (incident, that Jesus died on the cross) before his (actual) death, (while as a matter of fact they have no sure knowledge about Jesus dying on the cross). And on the Day of Resurrection he (- Jesus) will be a witness against them.

What the Bible says:

JN 19:31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe.

Romans 1:25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie...

2 Cor 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY

I got this article that talks about debunking Replacement Theology, which believes that the Church has replaced Israel.

Replacement Theology
by Anonymous, 1989

There is a lot of confusion going around these days about God's
promises, even among our own ranks here at (unnamed organization).
I'd like to take this opportunity to dispel a little of the confusion.

There is a powerful movement afoot called Replacement Theology
which states that the church is Israel and the promises given to
Israel were primarily for the church. This movement is
incurring the wrath of God, as it increasingly condemns the
nation of Israel as illegitimate, which is natural for folks who
believe the church has replaced Israel. Even among those who
still hold to Israel to one degree or another, there seems to be
a propensity for yanking Old Testament promises out of the Bible
-- and, I might add, out of context -- and indiscriminately
applying them to modern church situations. The tendency is to
select those promises which fit church theology (like healing,
prosperity, victory) and ignore those which do not (like
punishment for rebellion, keeping of feasts, sacrifices). To
set the record straight: the church did not yet exist when
those promises were given, and they were not given to Israel as
a "type" of the church until the church should inherit them.
The Old Testament promises were given to Israel, and they apply
to Israel. Many of them ALSO apply to the church in a general
way, and many of them apply to all nations in a general way, and
many of them apply only to Israel. We have got to quit assuming
that just because some teacher of the Word says the Bible says
something is ours, that it is. We must understand the situation
and context in which the promises were given -- promises of
blessing and/or cursing, of redemption, et-cetera -- before we
can understand the promises themselves.

Let's take as an example 2 Chronicles 7:14. Most people today
are familiar with that verse, but unfortunately the vast
majority of the church in America seems to have gotten the idea
somewhere -- not from God -- that the promise is to America. It
most assuredly is not. Let us read the passage in its context
(2 Chronicles 7:11-20):

Thus Solomon finished the house of the Lord and the
king's palace, and successfully completed all that
he had planned on doing in the house of the Lord and
in his palace. Then the Lord appeared to Solomon at
night and said to him, "I have heard your prayer,
and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of
sacrifice. If I shut up the heavens so that there
is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the
land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and
My people who are called by My Name [over whom My
Name is called] humble themselves and pray, and seek
My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and
will heal their land. Now My eyes shall be open and
My ears attentive the prayer of this place. For now
I have chosen and consecrated this house that My
Name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart
will be there perpetually."

The context here is the completion and dedication of the temple
in Israel. Note God's promise concerning "this house".
Speaking to Israel, the Lord promised to forgive the nation and
heal the land if the nation would repent. The entire nation is
called "My people". Israel is called by God's Name. This
promise was NOT given to Japan, Albania, or the United States,
none of which is a nation "called by My Name". Unfortunately,
we in western society have twisted the meaning for our own
supposed benefit to allegedly say, "If My people which are
called by My Name (the Christians within the country) ..." But
it does not say that. Now the promise CAN apply to a nation
other than Israel in a general way: certainly if any nation
(America included) will repent, God will restore the nation and
forgive the sin and heal the land. The key is the distinction
between who is Israel and who is not. If the church is Israel,
then one can truly say, "If the believers will repent and pray,
I'll restore their land." But believers have already repented,
or else they wouldn't be believers! The confusion comes from
erroneously assuming the church is modern "spiritual Israel",
having replaced national Israel. It does not say "If the
Christians will pray and intercede and repent". Repent of what?
The believers are already the righteousness of God in Jesus, and
it's not for the righteousness of the believing 1% that America
will be judged, but for the sin of the wicked 99% who refuse to
repent. The promise concerns a NATION repenting, not God's
people WITHIN A NATION repenting and praying. We are the temple
of the Holy Spirit, it is true, but our repentance does not
nullify the justice and righteousness of God. He cannot leave
America unjudged and remain a righteous judge!

Elsewhere in the Bible we find the answer to how God deals with
a wicked nation where a few people are righteous. This is one
of those passages the modern Word of Faith and Kingdom Now
people like to avoid, because it pretty well debunks their
misinterpretation of 2 Chronicles 7:14. This is found in
Ezekiel 14:13-20, and it is one of those places which speaks of
all nations in general (starting with verse 21 -- not quoted
here -- the Lord starts to apply it directly to Israel):

"Son of man, if a country sins against Me by
committing unfaithfulness, and I stretch out My hand
against it, destroy its supply of bread, send famine
against it, and cut off from it both man and beast,
even though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job
were in its midst, by their own righteousness they
could only deliver themselves," declares the Lord
God. "If I were to cause wild beasts to pass
through the land, and they bereave of children, and
it became desolate so that no one would pass through
it because of the beasts, though these three men
were in its midst, as I live," declares the Lord
God, "they could not deliver either their sons or
their daughters. They alone would be delivered, but
the country would be desolate. Or if I should bring
a sword on that country and say, 'Let the sword pass
through the country and cut off man and beast from
it,' even though these three men were in its midst,
as I live," declares the Lord God, "they could not
deliver either their sons or their daughters, but
they alone would be delivered. Or if I should send
a plague against that country and pour out My wrath
in blood on it, to cut off man and beast from it,
even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in its midst,
as I live," declares the Lord God, "they could not
deliver either their son or their daughter. They
would deliver only themselves by their
righteousness."

Can our righteousness deliver America? What does God say about
it? The only people who will be delivered are the righteous,
and we've got to quit praying out of God's will and asking Him
to deliver the wicked, because He is a righteous and just God
and He will judge sin. The smart thing is to get your sin
judged on the cross so you're free of it and you don't get
judged yourself. We need to pray for people to get saved, and
for wisdom for our leaders, and whatever else the Word tells us
to do. But know this: God is about to judge this nation. It
is His will to do so, indeed, He MUST do so. It is NOT His will
that any perish, but that all be saved. Nevertheless, Scripture
is clear that God hates sin, and He will destroy the nation that
continues to sin. He will also leave a righteous remnant.

The next time you hear someone quoting 2 Chronicles 7:14 over
America and admonishing you to pray for restoration of America,
just remember God isn't going to restore America. God is
restoring Israel now, and human government is coming to an end,
because the Messiah is about to return as King of kings and Lord
of lords; and soon the Word will be fulfilled which says, "The
kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and
He shall reign forever and ever." Why should God put off
Messiah's return so Americans could enjoy a few more years of
materialism and debauchery? We need to get in on what God is
doing, not try to make Him conform to American Christianity and
an American Jesus.

Prayer Based from Ephesians 2:1-8

Eph 2:1-8 (The Message)
It wasn't so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. 2 You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. 3 We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It's a wonder God didn't lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. 4 Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, 5 he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! 6 Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. 7 Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. 8 Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish!

Oh God, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as I read these verses, I remember both the Palestinians now and the Jews. Oh my heart aches for both of them, and even the Arab Muslims who are full of hatred against the Jews and even those in the 1st world countries who have an anti-Zionist sentiments. Since they havent placed their complete trust in, and dependence upon Jesus the Risen Lord, they are mired in that old stagnant life of sin. They let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell them how to live. They filled their lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. They are hell-bent in killing and exterminating one another. In the process, the innocents, the peace-loving fathers, mothers and children and young men and women are caught in the cross-fire.
They are just like us before we came to know you,or before you came and revealed yourself to us...we all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat.
Yet you have been so merciful to us.
Immense in mercy and with an incredible love, you embraced us. You took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. You did all this on your own, with no help from us! 6 Then you picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. 7 Now You have us where you wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.
Israel is your bride.
But Oh she doesnt recognize you yet as her groom in waiting. Yet you are full of hope, knowing that one day, as Your Body, the Church reaches its completeness, she will come to her senses, as she expresses her full dependence on you. Then you will rush to her side, to save her from all her enemies.
But today, like what she did before, she is putting her trust in America and her other allies, who will one day turn their backs on her. When all her lovers are gone, she will come to her senses and rush back to you.

Oh LORD God of heaven and earth, since saving us is a deed you did on your own, without our help, we look up to you to reveal your saving power in this ever-increasing drama of tension, when the Light will explode in pitch darkness, and all creation will see the Glory of God. Amen!

The Effects of Seeing the Glory of God by David Wilkerson

I sent this email to our Philnavstaff:

If I am not mistaken, I remember Tsip Wency saying that God-focused prayer is nothing but disciplemaking. It is helping someone love Jesus deeper, as he intentionally spends time with Him with other like-hearted and like-minded believers. So then we can safely say that Disciplemaking is nothing but bringing someone to the express image of the Father, who is Jesus our Lord. As the author said, " God wrapped up everything of his nature and character in Jesus. And any revelation of his glory to us now is meant to change us into an expression of Christ!"

In the light of the fact that we are facing perilous days ahead, growing in our intimacy with Jesus will prepare us.

As we intentionally spend time with God, say 30minutes of solitude and silence with God, (I am not referrring only to reading the Bible and doing our devotional journaling) but entering into His Presence in the morning and in the evening, and increasing the time spent regularly, as the Lord allows it, He will, in his own way reveal Himself in Jesus.

Then He is able to build us up, equipped for the perilous days ahead.

This is a MUST read as well.

The Effects of Seeing The Glory of God!

By David Wilkerson
June 21, 1999
__________

Scripture makes clear that it's possible for every true follower of Jesus to see and understand the glory of God. Indeed, our Lord reveals his glory to all who ask and seek for it diligently. Moreover, I believe the revelation of God's glory will equip his people for the perilous days ahead. Paul states that this revelation "...is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified" (Acts 20:32).

Contrary to some Christians' thinking, the glory of God is not a physical manifestation of some kind. It's not an ecstatic feeling that overcomes you. Nor is it a kind of supernatural aura or angelic light that bursts forth. Simply put, God's glory is a revelation of his nature and attributes!

The Lord himself defines his glory this way in scripture. Therefore, when we pray, "Lord, show me your glory," we're actually praying, "Father, reveal to me who you are." And if the Lord does give us a revelation of his glory, it's a revelation of how he wants to be known by us.

Moses' experience with the glory of God demonstrates this truth. The Lord sent Moses to deliver Israel without giving him a full revelation of who the God of Israel was. The Lord merely told him, "Go, and say I AM sent you." But he gave no explanation of who "I AM" was.

I believe this is why Moses cried, "[Lord]...I beseech thee, shew me thy glory" (Exodus 33:18). Moses had a gnawing hunger and thirst to know who the great I AM was -- to know what his nature and character were all about.

And the Lord answered Moses' prayer. First, he instructed Moses to hide himself in the cleft of a rock. Yet, as Moses waited for the glory of God to appear, he saw no thunder, no lightning, no shaking of the earth. Rather, God's glory came to him in a simple revelation:

"The Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression..." (Exodus 34:6-7).

Now, God only reveals his power or glory with a purpose in mind. So, what was his purpose here? It certainly wasn't to give Moses a moment of ecstasy. And it wasn't to give him a legacy, something he could tell his children and grandchildren about.

No -- God allowed Moses to see his glory so that he might be changed by the sight of it! And the same is true for us today. God reveals his glory to us so that, by seeing it, we might be changed into his very own image!

Today, Jesus Christ is the express image of who God is. When our Lord became flesh, it was as a full revelation of the heavenly father's mercy, grace, goodness and readiness to forgive. God wrapped up everything of his nature and character in Jesus. And any revelation of his glory to us now is meant to change us into an expression of Christ!

The apostle Paul understood well the purpose and effect of seeing the glory of God. He saw it as power to change the beholder -- to revolutionize the life of every follower of Christ. "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass [mirror] the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Paul is telling us, "Once you get this revelation of God's glory -- of his love, mercy, grace, long-suffering and readiness to forgive -- the Holy Spirit will continually open your eyes to more of these aspects of his nature and character. You'll have an ever-increasing revelation of God, in the way he wants to be known to you!"

Paul then says in an even stronger tone: "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:17-18).

Beloved, God wants to tell us, "Moses understood my glory, and now I want you to understand it. I want to open your eyes by my Spirit to show you who I am. I'm not just a God of wrath and judgment. My nature is love!"

"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God" (3:17-19).

Paul is telling us, "Let this revelation of God's glory become so real to you that you become rooted and grounded in it. Keep seeking it, studying it, claiming it, appropriating it in your life -- until the vision of Christ's glory bursts forth in you! As you remain in the word, seeking the revelation of his glory, you'll be changed. And you'll keep changing, from glory to glory!"
"Unto him be glory in the church by Jesus Christ..." (verse 21).

ISRAEL THE BRIDE OF THE LAMB

This evening, at around 9pm, while inside our bedroom, I visited the Throne of the Ancient of Days again, and imagine the Lamb seated at the right hand of the Ancient of Days, while they are being surrounded by twenty-four elders and the four living creatures praising them. I also imagine the millions and millions of angels worshiping the Ancient of Days and the Lamb.I am certain that even at this writing, there is an ongoing activity there.

In my prayer I thanked the Ancient of Days (my Holy Father) for the privilege of allowing us to enter into His Holy Presence, all because of the work of the Lamb. His blood shed on the cross purchased men and women from every nation like me. I also thanked him for being in me, for allowing the Kingdom to be in me, and I in him. After all, it was the Spirit and the Bride who invited me to come. It says in Revelation 22:16-17: v16 "I, Jesus, sent my Angel to testify to these things for the churches. I'm the Root and Branch of David, the Bright Morning Star." 17 "Come!" say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo, "Come!" Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink, Drink freely of the Water of Life!

Then while in contemplative silence, the Lord reminded me of a previous realization he gave me: Isn't Israel the Bride of the Lamb? Since, Christ is the Head, and the Church is the Body of Christ, doesn't it follow that the Bride whom the Lamb loves so much is Israel? I mean, the political nation of Israel today? The nation that is hated so much by all the surrounding Arab nations whose people claim they are followers of Allah, their false god? And many peoples from all over the world are beginning to also grow in hatred against this tiny nation of Jews.

I reviewed Rev21:9-26:
Rev 21:9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven final plagues (afflictions, calamities) came and spoke to me. He said, Come with me! I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife. 10 Then in the Spirit He conveyed me away to a vast and lofty mountain and exhibited to me the holy (hallowed, consecrated) city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven from God, [Ezek. 40:2] 11 Clothed in God’s glory [in all its splendor and radiance]. The luster of it resembled a rare and most precious jewel, like jasper, shining clear as crystal.12 It had a massive and high wall with twelve [large] gates, and at the gates [there were stationed] twelve angels, and [on the gates] the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were written: [Exod. 28:21; Ezek. 48:30-35] 13 On the east side three gates, on the north side three gates, on the south side three gates, and on the west side three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation [stones], and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who spoke to me had a golden measuring reed (rod) to measure the city and its gates and its wall. [Ezek. 40:5] 16 The city lies in a square, its length being the same as its width. And he measured the city with his reed—12,000 stadia (about 1,500 miles); its length and width and height are the same. 17 He measured its wall also—144 cubits (about 72 yards) by a man’s measure [ of a cubit from his elbow to his third fingertip], which is [the measure] of the angel. 18 The wall was built of jasper, while the city [itself was of] pure gold, clear and transparent like glass. 19 The foundation [stones] of the wall of the city were ornamented with all of the precious stones. The first foundation [stone] was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony (or white agate), the fourth emerald, [Isa. 54:11, 12] 20 The fifth onyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass. 22 I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Omnipotent [Himself] and the Lamb [Himself] are its temple.23 And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to give light to it, for the splendor and radiance (glory) of God illuminate it, and the Lamb is its lamp. [Isa. 24:23; 60:1, 19] 24 The nations shall walk by its light and the rulers and leaders of the earth shall bring into it their glory.
Rev 21:25 And its gates shall never be closed by day, and there shall be no night there. [Isa. 60:11] 26 They shall bring the glory (the splendor and majesty) and the honor of the nations into it. (Amplified Version)

I tried checking from Barnes or Gill Commentaries if this is so, but both of them say that the Bride is the Church. I also searched some sites and they all point out that the Church is the Bride of the Lamb. There is a particular website that says this quite emphatically. However, I noticed that the author who defended this position was coming from the year 1882. He has not seen Israel become a nation in 1948 and Jerusalem becoming the eternal city of Israel after the Six Day War in 1967.

Fortunately there is one website: http://www.gracepoints.com/articles/gpbrideofchrist.php that clearly says that Israel is indeed the Bride of the Lamb. Check this out.

If Israel indeed is the Bride of the Lamb, then it makes sense why the Lord loves Israel to this day, that even if she still does not recognize Him as her Lord and Savior, she is loved unconditionally and eternally. And the Lord would guard her with his life against all her rivals, those who seek to destroy her and annihilate her.

I reviewed Jeremiah 32:37-44

Jer 32:37 "'Watch for this! I will collect them from all the countries to which I will have driven them in my anger and rage and indignation. Yes, I'll bring them all back to this place and let them live here in peace.38 They will be my people, I will be their God. 39 I'll make them of one mind and heart, always honoring me, so that they can live good and whole lives, they and their children after them.40 What's more, I'll make a covenant with them that will last forever, a covenant to stick with them no matter what, and work for their good. I'll fill their hearts with a deep respect for me so they'll not even think of turning away from me. 41 "'Oh how I'll rejoice in them! Oh how I'll delight in doing good things for them! Heart and soul, I'll plant them in this country and keep them here!' 42 "Yes, this is GOD's Message: 'I will certainly bring this huge catastrophe on this people, but I will also usher in a wonderful life of prosperity. I promise. 43 Fields are going to be bought here again, yes, in this very country that you assume is going to end up desolate--gone to the dogs, unlivable, wrecked by the Babylonians. 44 Yes, people will buy farms again, and legally, with deeds of purchase, sealed documents, proper witnesses--and right here in the territory of Benjamin, and in the area around Jerusalem, around the villages of Judah and the hill country, the Shephelah and the Negev. I will restore everything that was lost.' GOD's Decree." (The Message)

In my excitement, I thought of texting Bobot to share with him my discovery. However, the Lord reminded me of a lesson I learned from the book Practical Spirituality, that I let this revelation sink in first into my spirit, until it grows inside of me to full maturity.

Let it be so, Lord, let it be so.

Amen.

SEARCA, UPLB
CDM Retreat

Oh LORD God of heaven and earth, our Loving Father, through Jesus, my personal LORD and Savior, I was restored to a dynamic and intimate relationship with You.
You have given me the Bible so I can understand Your plans and purposes for mankind.
And then, You have given me Your Holy Spirit so that I can be more intimate with you.
My desire is to be a man full of faith in You, through intimacy with the Lord Jesus.
I want to gain understanding about your plans for Israel since this very small country now is being negatively portrayed by the Arab world through the western media during the Gaza Strip war on terror.
So help me. Give me clarity of mind.
Teach me also so I can teach others so they would be delivered from the deceptions of Satan, who has been deceiving the world:
Rev 12:7 War broke out in Heaven. Michael and his Angels fought the Dragon. The Dragon and his Angels fought back, Rev 12:8 but were no match for Michael. They were cleared out of Heaven, not a sign of them left. Rev 12:9 The great Dragon--ancient Serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, the one who led the whole earth astray--thrown out, and all his Angels thrown out with him, thrown down to earth.
In Your Most Precious Holy Name, the Name of Jesus Your Son I pray this. AMEN

Kim

Gen12:1-4a
Gen 12:1 Now the LORD said to Avram, "Get out of your country, and from your relatives, and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. Gen 12:2 I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. In you will all of the families of the earth be blessed." Gen 12:4 So Avram went, as the LORD had spoken to him. Lot went with him. Avram was seventy-five years old when he departed out of Charan.

Who spoke to Avram? The LORD [From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord.]
What was His instructions to Avram?
Get out of your country, (From Iraq)
and from your relatives,
and from your father's house,
to the land that I will show you.
What were His promises?
Gen 12:2
I will make of you a great nation.
I will bless you and make your name great.
You will be a blessing.
Gen 12:3
I will bless those who bless you,
and I will curse him who curses you.
In you will all of the families of the earth be blessed."

Gen 12:6 Avram passed through the land to the place of Shekhem, to the oak of Moreh. The Kena`ani was then in the land.

Observation: The LORD appeared to Avram, after mentioning in the preceding verse that the Kena`ani was then in the land. He said “I will give this land to your seed.”
WHO GAVE THIS PROMISE TO AVRAM? The LORD.
In response, Avram built an altar. In v8 when he left from there to the mountain on the east of Beit-El, he again built an alter to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.

Gen 12:7 The LORD appeared to Avram and said, "I will give this land to your seed." He built an altar there to the LORD, who appeared to him. Gen 12:8 He left from there to the mountain on the east of Beit-El, and pitched his tent, having Beit-El on the west, and `Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD. Gen 12:9 Avram traveled, going on still toward the South.

In Gen13:1-4 Avram left Egypt and has become rich in livestock, in silver and in gold, and stopped at the place between Beit-El and Ai where he build an alter to the LORD. There he called again on the name of the LORD.

What is significant on calling on the Name of the LORD?
What does it mean to call on the name of the Lord? To call upon the Lord is to enjoy the rich presence of His divine Person. Both our initial contact as well as our continuing with Him depend in large part on this simple opening and calling. Each time we call upon the Lord’s name, He comes to us and we receive Him in a fresh, new way. Our experience of His presence is renewed and enhanced when we audibly call His name.
